2019 CSFFL DRAFT
2019 Draft Order
The First Four Rounds
No big surprises in the first few rounds, with the exception of Coach Rubs reaching for JuJu at 14th overall when pretty much every other WR was available
QBs got started extra late this year, with the first one off the board being Patty Mahomes midway through the 3rd by the Toll Booth
Kerryon Johnson Round 4. He finished the year playing 8 games and had a total of 403 rushing yards. Nice
Rounds 5 & 6 consisted mainly of WR2/3s and the initial start of the IDP train, but it was Round 7-10 that really made the difference for everyone’s roster
This is where Q won the league. His four picks here were Drew Brees (2nd highest completion percentage in NFL history in 2019), Bobby Wagner (1st team All-Pro with a league-leading 159 tackles), Calvin Ridley (866 receiving yards and 7 TDs in just 13 games), and Lamar Jackson, who ended up being the steal of the draft (see below)
Meanwhile, the rest of us were taking Corey Littleton, Sterling Shepard, Mitchell Trubisky, Vance McDonald, and, of course, Josh Gordon
Josh Gordon had 326 total receiving yards on the season
POST-DRAFT ROSTERS
2019 Draft Awards
Best Pick: Lamar Jackson, Round 10 by Q. Lamar was taken by Q after quarterbacks such as Kirk Cousins, Big Ben, Jared Goff, and Mitchell Trusbisky had already been selected. Lamar went on to become the unanimous NFL MVP for the season after breaking the single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,206 yards on the ground (not a typo) to go along with his 36 passing touchdowns and 3,127 yards through the air. Needless to say, Q won the title
Worst Pick: Le’Veon Bell, Round 1 by the Sneaky Greek. Bell had just been signed by the Jets after holding out the entire 2018 season. Zack was probably assuming that he was getting Le’Veon Pittsburgh Version, but instead he got the Jets version. Bell had less than 800 rushing yards and just 3 touchdowns on the year. Zack finished the regular season with a 5-8 record, but was ultimately lucky enough to reverse into the 6-seed for the playoffs
Most Incredible Pick: Greg Zuerlein, Round 18 by the Sneaky Greek. Zack attempted to start the kicker train here with Greg the Leg, taken just before the likes of Myles Garrett, Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, DK Metcalf, and literally every other kicker in the NFL. Zuerlein proceeded to have one of his worst years ever, hitting just 72.7% of his field goal attempts
