The Sneaky Greek
Eleftherios is one of the league’s Founding Fathers and unfortunately a die-hard Steelers fan who is actually from Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is not fun. Lucky for the Greeks, they are now based out of Colorado Springs, which is actually a pretty nice place (I think).
Ties may be bad luck. Eleftherios started off great in the inaugural 2011 season before tying the HI-Life Ganja Farmers. The Sneaky Greek then proceeded to lose the majority of their remaining games and miss out on the playoffs. Missing out on the playoffs turned out to be a common theme for this franchise, but the 2018 season turned out to be a bit different as they won the franchise’s first - and to-date, only - championship.
The Greeks went on an insane dark horse run through the 2021 season, similar to their Euro triumph back in ‘04, but they lost in hands down the most heartbreaking fashion of all time in the 2021 Championship Game.
Fun Franchise Fact: Has been in the league for 10 seasons, but only won playoff games during one of those years - their miraculous, Cinderella run to the 2018 championship
