2017 Regular Season
The 2017 season was the 2nd - and to date, last - year where no team ended the regular season with double-digit wins
Six WRs were taken in the first round of the 2017 Draft, the most in any first round in league history
This was arguably the closest regular season of all time, with 2nd place and 8th place being separated by a mere 2 games at the end
Final Regular Season Standings
What a season. In a year that went right down to the wire, we saw Brock nail the franchise’s first ever playoff appearance with a 7-6 record, good for second place in the division behind Coach Rubs. The #1 seed switched back to the North Division this year as Commissioner Stalin put up a 9-4 record to take the regular season crown, and the Toll Booth also put up a winning record as her 8-5 mark earned her the top wild card seed. Two of the four teams with 6-7 records were set to make it to the postseason as wild card squads, and both teams from the North ended up making it in the Kosher Nostra and the Law Firm at the expense of Sloppy Joe and the Ganja Farmers in the East. Q and the Sneaky Greek both missed the playoffs with subpar showings during the season.
Based on these numbers, Commissioner Stalin should have run away with the 2017 season. However, this is Cowboys Suck, and the top seed usually doesn’t win. This had to be the worst year in league history, as only three teams averaged above even 168 points on a weekly basis and Coach Rubs won a division while scoring just 163 points per game. Just incredible.
Shout out to Big Mike and his 69 moves (nice).
