Wild Card Round
HI-Life Ganja Farmers vs. Coach Rubs - The Ganja Farmers got an incredible 53.5 points from Josh Allen and Alvin Kamara alone, but the rest of their roster could barely break 100 as they fell short to Coach Rubs and his squad. Logan, led by a fossilized Frank Gore who put up just 0.5 total points in this wild card matchup, had guys like Kareem Hunt, Derek Carr, and DL Chase Young pull through to give him the victory and send the Texas-based franchise to the semis for the 7th consecutive season. No, that is not a typo
Commissioner Stalin vs. The Law Firm - Home field advantage strikes again in the Wild Card Gravy Bowl as the Soviets barely advance past the Law Firm through an out-of-court settlement that involved a 23.5 point performance by running back Mike Davis and a 15 point game by LB Jaylon Smith. Miles Sanders dropped 27 for the league counsel and the trio of Murray, Hopkins, and Allen LLP maintained their reputation with solid performances of their own. It wasn’t enough though, as that pesky Soviet winter yet again came through for the Russians as Stalin advanced to the semis
Semi Finals
The Kosher Nostra vs. Coach Rubs - Derek Carr and Kareem Hunt, two of the heroes in Logan’s Week 14 Wild Card upset over Djavan, fell flat on their face here in the semis as they combined for just 5.5 total points. Pat Mahomes did his best and Logan Thomas somehow put up 17.5, but Coach Rubs didn’t have enough with his final score of just 162. The Kosher Nostra’s team, meanwhile, got 32.5 points from his two linebackers alone en route to a massive 251.5 total. Big Mike only had 3 of his 17 starters put up single digits, with eight of them topping 14.5 on the week as he cruised into the championship game
Brock vs. Commissioner Stalin - In a huge day for the Brock franchise, QBs Tom Brady and Ryan Tannehill combined for 59 (!) points between them to lead the rock Pokemon to a massive 197.5-point showing in their first ever semifinal appearance. The Soviets, who were the highest scoring team during the regular season, once again collapsed in the semifinals due to poor management by Stalin for leaving 99 points hanging out on the bench as the starters went out there and lost by 30. The Cinderella run continued for Brock, as the 2020 campaign continued with their first division title, their first postseason win, and now their first-ever trip to the championship game
Championship Game
The Kosher Nostra vs. Brock - Brock came into this game as the greatest Cinderella story the league had ever known. They came into the playoffs as a division champion (the franchise’s first), but as just the 6th highest scoring team overall. They then upset the Soviets, the highest scoring regular season team, in the semifinals to book their place in the finals for the first time in franchise history, where they came face to face with the two-time champ, the Kosher Nostra. In an obvious bid to win, Brock inserts running back Salvon Ahmed (he played for Miami at the time, since you’re curious) into the starting lineup to continue the Cinderella run in the championship game against the league’s top team
As you could imagine, it did not go well. The Cinderella run ended as Brock faltered to just 157 points behind Salvon Ahmed. Tom Brady and Tee Higgins had decent games, but it wasn’t enough as Big Mike rode a 36.5 point performance from WR Stefon Diggs to a 191.5 point total and an easy victory in the 2020 title game. This victory made the Kosher Nostra, the league’s only Wisconsin-based franchise, the first 3-time champion in CSFFL history
