2011 Regular Season
The 2011 CSFFL season was the inaugural season of the league, and the only one to date in which there was Team Defense as a part of the roster
Nobody had any idea what was going on, as seen in the coverage of the 2011 draft where Team Defenses and QBs reigned supreme early on despite it being a 6-team, one-QB league
Incredibly, the league had its first ever tie just 6 weeks into its existence as Djavan and Zack pulled off a 96-96 stalemate in Week 6. This tie would go on to be massive in the playoff seedings down the road
Final Regular Season Standings
The Law Firm sat just 3-2 after Week 5, but went 8-2 the rest of the way through the regular season as they ran away with the East Division title and cemented themselves into place as the team to beat. Alex Smith For President pulled off a divisional title over in the West with an 8-7 record, and Commissioner Stalin matched his win total to seal the first wild card spot as the 3-seed. The Week 6 tie between HI-Life and The Sneaky Greek came full circle here as that half-game difference allowed the Ganja Farmers to cruise into the postseason with the final wild card seed. Coach Rubs, who missed the playoffs by just a half a game due to the tie, was sitting at 5-3 after Week 8 and looking to make a run before collapsing and going 1-6 the rest of the way to miss out on the postseason.
Despite the 11-4 record, turns out The Law Firm was just the 3rd highest-scoring team during the regular season and may have benefited from being far and away the team with the least points scored against them. Nevertheless, they only had to make 4 (FOUR) moves en route to the top, although one of those was the epic trade failure of Coach Rubs in giving away team namesake Arian Foster for what amounted to a pair of used sneakers and a spool of bright yellow yarn. He’ll get him back on the first.
Pour one out for Alex Smith For President, who was the highest scoring team during his only season in the CSFFL.
