2013 Draft

Trent Richardson in the Second

The draft for the 2013 CSFFL season was held on August 29, 2013, and for some reason we stopped reaching for QBs in the first and second round during the same season that we implemented starting 2 QBs each week. Additionally, the 2013 draft

was the first in league history to utilize the ESPN draft tool feature. Why? I have no idea.

The First Four Rounds

  • Ray Rice once again makes an appearance early on

  • The real story here is that second round. Two HOF quarterbacks with the first and last picks surrounded guys like Trent Richardson and CJ Spiller, although we gotta give Spiller credit for having a decent season here in 2013. We also can’t forget Alfred Morris, who helped lead the Toll Booth to her 2012 title

  • How about Kaepernick and RG3 back to back in the third?

  • Frank Gore. A 4th round pick in 2013 - already 8 years into his career at that point - and still going strong in the 2020s

  • Late in the 2013 draft we saw Antonio Gates and a young Alshon Jeffery get taken, as well as absolute studs like Brandon Weeden and Isaiah Pead

  • Lance Moore makes his 3rd straight appearance in the bottom few rounds of the draft, for whatever reason

POST-DRAFT ROSTERS

2013 Draft Awards

Best Pick: LeSean McCoy, 2nd Round by Q. After picking Ray Rice early in the 1st, Q risked being thin at other positions by taking another back in Shady, who went on to lead the league in rushing on the year with 1,607 yards as Q went on to win the title

Worst Pick: Trent Richardson, 2nd Round by the Law Firm. Richardson, in his 2nd year with the Browns after being drafted early out of Alabama, would be traded to the Colts just two weeks into the season. He would finish with a rock solid 563 total yards on the season. Not ideal for your 2nd round pick

Most Incredible Pick: Golden Tate, 25th Round by the Sneaky Greek. Once again, Mr. Irrelevant is a WR that puts up a great season, as Tate fell just short of 900 yards on the season to go along with 5 touchdowns
